In an effort to assist Florida’s agricultural communities to financially survive one of their most challenging times in history, and at the same time feed South Florida Families who are in need, a consortium of various groups has come together to support a program titled Adopt-a-Box. Boxes will be filled with a variety of local Redland-Raised and Fresh from Florida fruits and vegetables and distributed free to the public.

The Redland Country Market is proud to announce that we have been added onto the list of historical stops during this Saturday’s Redland Riot Road Rallye.
This honor is expected to bring more than 150 participants into the market this weekend.
At the second annual Viscaya Farmers Dinner, Redland Ahead received the “It takes A Village” award for your collective contributions in the South Florida Farming community.
With nearly 300 farmers, chefs, foragers, and other farming related guests Redland Ahead was recognized for the community support in Veterans to Farmers and Underserved communities, efforts of the IDC efforts in containing Laurel Wilt, Rescue /repurposing of Canines, and the Redland Country market.
John Mills, owner of Innovative Detection Concepts, and trainer Lourdes Edlin of Action Pack Performing Dogs, use their dogs Cobra, front, and Vinnie to sniff out the laurel wilt fungus and locate infected avocado trees. The dogs were being trained at the University of Florida Tropical Research and Education Center in Homestead.
Ambrosia beetles are spreading laurel wilt, a fungal virus, which is responsible for killing more than 12,000 commercial avocado trees in South Florida since 2012.

Redland Ahead and the Florida International University are hosting the Stars and Stripes Charity Auction where the proceeds will go to the non-profit 501(c)3 www.redlandahead.org to support the Veterans to Farmers program and to the 1916 Redland Farm Life School renovation project.
In addition to auctioning antique furniture, high quality Oriental Carpets, unique artwork and exquisite jewelry, we will also have local vendors, food trucks and a K-9 demonstration during the weekend.
